How to check the type of refrigerant
To ensure that HVAC&R equipment is free of CFC/HCFC based refrigerants:
• ask the suppliers/retailers.
• check the type of refrigerant displayed on the energy label to ensure that they are CFC (commonly used
in, for example,
R-11/R-12
)/HCFC (commonly used in, for example,
R-22
) free air conditioners.
