The shopping arcade building is like unknown territory in which opportunities for passive design for energy saving should
be explored. Careful planning of the arcade and shop spaces and design of the internal circulation can not only enhance
the shopping experience but also reduce energy consumption. The design of the building façade, choice of glazing and
shading and even the interior decoration will determine whether natural ventilation or natural lighting will be successful.
